After the U15 started the 2022/23 season with a win, SpVgg Landshut was waiting for our boys last Saturday. The opposing team proved to be a strong competitor in the past performances, which puts a lot of emphasis on playing good soccer. The game started in difficult conditions with wind and rain. Our guys had a good start and tried to get the upper hand in the game right away with high tackling and aggressive duels. The team managed this quite well until the visiting team took an early lead after a counterattack. After their own corner kick, Landshut switched quickly. The first shot was held by the goalkeeper, but then Huber was beaten with a lob. Despite conceding the goal, the team continued to try to generate quick gains on the ball. This continued to succeed well, as the visiting team was designed to open flat out from behind. However, the team then had problems to score goals. Most of the time, the last pass into the deep was missing or they got caught up in the opponents and missed the moment to pass the ball. That’s why they had few scoring chances despite having a lot of the ball. Shortly before halftime, however, it was Drechsler who scored after a very nicely played attack on the right side to equalize 1-1. Here the team could show their footballing quality and could play through an attack with 1-2 ball contacts per player. That was then also the half-time score. Not much changed in the second half. The game alignment of both teams remained the same. But you noticed that with increasing playing time, the power went out in our guys and more errors have crept into our game. Thus, it was then an inconcentration in the defensive chain, which the opposing team exploited for the 1:2 lead goal. The DFI boys were eager to even the score even after this goal. However, our game then became too hectic. Increasingly, wrong decisions were made, which then led to the fact that you could not successfully finish the attack. In the final minutes, the boys could still play out a good scoring opportunity, which one could not use, however. In the end, a 2:1 defeat is on the books, where you can still learn a lot of lessons from it. With better precision in the attacks and better decision making, a better result would have been possible in this game. However, we are only at the beginning of a long road, and will now continue to work ahead of the tasks ahead to take the next successful steps.
Still undefeated and yet with two draws in a row, the U17 boys of DFI went to the away game in Stätzling. It became clear after just a few minutes that it was not going to be the Aiblingers’ day. They struggled especially at the beginning with the surface and had problems playing forward. The …
